New York State Math and Science Teaching Incentive Program
Are you passionate about math or science and interested in inspiring the next generation? Then the New York State Math and Science Teaching Incentive Program is the perfect program for you! This program provides financial assistance to students who are committed to teaching mathematics or science in New York State after graduation.
The scholarship is for full-time undergraduate or graduate students in approved programs pursuing careers as math and science teachers in secondary education (grades 7-12.) The award given covers the cost of tuition and is not to exceed the cost of tuition at a state-operated SUNY ($7,070.)

Recipients will be eligible for an annual award for a maximum of four academic years of full-time undergraduate study and one academic year of full-time graduate study while enrolled in an authorized program. Recipients must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually to receive the incentive!
To apply you must:
- Be a New York State resident.
- Be enrolled in an approved undergraduate or graduate program at a NYS college leading into a degree and teaching certification in mathematics or science.
- Maintain a good academic standing.
- Sign a service agreement to teach mathematics or science in a NYS public or private school for 5 years.
