We are a committee dedicated to steering the USS Agenda.

SALIMATOU DOUMBOUYA

SALIMATOU DOUMBOUYA

Chairperson

Salimatou Doumbouya, the 37th Chairperson of the University Student Senate and Student Trustee at the City University of New York (CUNY), exemplifies leadership and dedication. As a first-generation college student from Guinea, West Africa, she is multilingual, speaking French, English, and her native languages. Drawn to CUNY’s diversity and service commitment, Doumbouya has been an advocate for student involvement in governance and the enhancement of public higher education quality.

Starting her academic journey at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) with an associate degree in Liberal Arts, Doumbouya actively participated in student government, leading to her roles as a National Society of Leadership and Success executive board member and BMCC Student Government senator. Currently, she is the City Tech Student Government Association president and an upper senior studying Architecture at New York City College of Technology (City Tech), where she has served in significant leadership positions. In 2018, she founded Building a Brighter African Diaspora (BBAD), focusing on empowering students through research, entrepreneurship, and project management in African projects and afro-centered workshops, demonstrating her commitment to community service and leadership.

Vice Chair for Graduate Affairs

Tinnycua Williams believes in the power of strengths-based initiatives. A native New Yorker, her Super Power is the ability to connect with others through stories and shared experiences. Tinnycua’s passion, is working with youth development professionals to realize their uniqueness & to empower them to facilitate self-expression. In her role as the Vice Chair of Graduate Affairs, Tinnycua is honored and privileged to represent graduate students across all 25 campuses. As a student at City College (CCNY), Tinnycua is working toward a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Within USS, Tinnycua Chairs the Academic Affairs Committee and the City University of New York (CUNY) Student Advisory Board for Online Education. At CCNY she serves as Executive Chair of the Graduate Student Council.

KAYLA AARON

KAYLA AARON

Vice Chair for Senior Colleges Affairs

A born and raised New Yorker, Kayla Aaron is proud to serve the students of CUNY as the Vice Chair of Senior Colleges. As a dual student in both the Macaulay Honors and Baruch Colleges, Kayla is well versed in the system that governs the CUNY campuses, enabling her to serve the student body in an effective way.

Kayla is passionate about ensuring that student voices are heard at every level of decision making regarding academic policies, student life, and campus issues. She believes that it is important to foster more cross-campus interactions between students and student governments.

In addition to her roles at USS, Kayla serves as the Vice President of Community Service for the Honors Student Council at Baruch where she dedicates her time to increasing student service opportunities and helping others. As the founder of the annual winter coat and supplies drive at Baruch, she hopes to initiate and inspire similar events for USS.

Vice Chair for Community College Affairs

John Fletcher is the current Vice Chair for Community College Affairs.

A local from Sunnyside, John Fletcher is serving as President of Student Government Association at LaGuardia Community College representing one of the most diverse student bodies in the country. A passionate leader on campus for over a year, John served as Parliamentarian of SGA from November 2022 before winning the campus-wide SGA election in June to serve the student body of over 13,000. John also served on the Audit Committee of USS, as an alternate and then a delegate.

Falana Fray is the current Vice Chair for Disability Affairs.

Vice Chair for International Student Affairs

Davia Willis is the current Vice Chair for International Student Affairs.

In addition to serving as Vice Chair for International Affairs, she serves as the Student Government Association President at Queensborough Community College where she also strives to ensure that student life on her campus is prioritized. As a result- oriented individual and a passionate upcoming public servant, it is her goal to ensure that change is brought about for the students she represents.
